Matterhorn Alpine Style Cheddar is a firm, aged cheddar cheese that incorporates active Alpine cultures into the make process. With a rich, nutty flavor and a pleasantly sharp bite, its texture is dense yet smooth, and as it matures, it deepens into bold, full-bodied savory territory while still finishing clean. It's equally at home sliced onto sandwiches, shredded over burgers, stirred into mac and cheese, layered into casseroles, or melted into a grilled cheese that packs a little more punch.

Established in 1922 and run by the fourth generation of the Widmer family, Widmer's Cheese Cellars in Theresa, WI, is celebrated for its authentic hand-crafted, artisan cheeses. They are the only cheese makers in the US still producing Brick cheese using traditional actual bricks for the pressing process.

Matterhorn Alpine Cheddar is a dense, firm, and completely smooth cheese naturally aged for at least 8 months. By blending traditional white cheddar with proprietary active Alpine cultures, it delivers a unique, rich, and nutty flavor balanced by a sharp, full-bodied bite. This versatile cheese is an excellent choice for a charcuterie board alongside fresh fruit and nuts, but it also shines in warm dishes, melting beautifully into gourmet grilled cheese, macaroni and cheese, burgers, and sandwiches.

Matterhorn Alpine Cheddar is a award-winning, specialty hybrid cheese produced by Widmer's Cheese Cellars in Wisconsin. It famously won "Best of Class" at the 2023 United States Championship Cheese Contest.
