About the Producer

Vermont Creamery was founded in 1984 by two young entrepreneurs, Allison Hooper and Bob Reese. Vermont Creamery began as a farmstead operation of just 60 goats in Brookfield, Vermont. Today, they pick up milk from a network of over twenty farms based throughout Vermont & Canada, our friendly neighbors to the north. In 2012, Vermont Creamery founded the nation’s first demonstration goat dairy, Ayers Brook, in Randolph, Vermont. Today the farm is owned and managed by the Hooper Family, who continue to invest in the future of Vermont goat farming.

Serving Suggestions

Pair Coupole with berry bourbon mostarda, sour cherry compote, honey, warm pistachios, and thinly sliced prosciutto. Less intense beers like citrusy wheat ales and lightly hopped pilsners or a crisp sauvignon blanc or Sancerre are a great match.

One of the best

I will always buy this cheese. It’s one of my favorites and has been for years! Take it out of the fridge about an hour before serving it so it’s room temperature and super creamy when serving. It’s really good on apple slices or on crackers. I sometimes eat it on Triscuits and the added salt is soooo good with the woody flavor of the cheese. 10/10

Creamy flavorful

I’ve heard about the wonderfulness of Harbison, so when I had the change ordered a couple small wheels - it lives up to it’s reputation - creamy, flavorful, totally enjoyable.

Wagyu and More!

I recently received my Cheese Grotto selections of Wagyu Bresaola, Wild Rosemary from Goat Rodeo, Marin French Cheese Petite Camembert and Sour Cherry Pomegranate Conserve. At a small dinner party they were so popular I worried guests would want to skip dinner and just dwell on the charcuterie offerings! It was wonderful to have a unique goat cheese offering for my guest who limits dairy. The conserve has enhanced meat, cheese, and bread at my table. I recommend all of these items from Cheese Grotto.
