Celebrate Spring with seasonal artisan goat cheese and fresh, bright wines! We've partnered with Suhru Wines to put together a Virtual Wine & Cheese Tasting on Sunday, April 25th from 5:30 to 6:30pm EST! We'll be focusing on Spring favorites—Pinot Grigio, Rosé, and Shiraz paired with a selection of seasonal goat cheeses from Yellow Springs Farm!

With your purchase you will receive an invitation to join our Virtual Tasting, hosted by Shelby Hearn of Suhru Wines and Jessica Sennett the founder of Cheese Grotto. During this Zoom Virtual Tasting we will walk you through each of the cheese and wine pairings, giving you a little background on each of the items you are tasting, and discussing how the flavors compliment and more.

More about Suhru Wines

Suhru Wines is a family-run winery based in Long Island. Established in 2008, the family sources excellent fruit from the regions in New York where each variety grows best. Their wines include tank fermented crisp, dry whites as well as barrel aged and fruit forward red wines with soft tannins. The Suhru Wines portfolio contains vibrant, balanced, and approachable wines for all to enjoy.

More about the cheeses

Yellow Springs Farm, a Native Plant Nursery and Artisanal Goat Cheese Dairy, was founded by Catherine and Al Renzi in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. The farm and nursery consists of an historic farmhouse, dairy barn, and a springhouse with pond on 8 acres of land. Originally a dairy farm 150 years ago, they purchased the farm in 2001, protecting it from future development with a conservation easement.  They breed and raise Nubian goats for their naturally, nutrient rich milk and hand make a variety of pasteurized milk cheeses that change with the seasons and milk composition. 

Cloud Nine: This is a French-style, surface ripened cheese. It is handmade to look like a snowball or cotton puff. If you like creamy French cheese, and a bit of a bite on the back of your tongue, this is right for you. Like peaches or tomatoes, Cloud Nine ™ can be enjoyed right away while it’s firm, or ripened longer for a different texture and flavor. There is no "wrong way" to eat this—enjoy! This cheese won a blue ribbon and was Reserve Best in Show at the 2015 PA Farm Show.

Black DiamondThis is a ripe cheese coated in vegetable ash as it ages. It is creamy, with layers of complex flavors. This cheese is inspired by the French Valencay cheese from the Loire Valley.  Black Diamond ™ won first place among aged goat cheeses at 2014 American Cheese Society competition.

Fieldstone™If they could package the "flavor of the farm" in one bite, it would be Fieldstone ™ cheese. A firm, cave-aged cheese with an edible natural rind, which coincidentally resembles the color and texture of the natural stone walls in the 19th-century barn where it ages.  One of their American Cheese Society award winning cheeses, Fieldstone ™ offers an earthy and nutty quality from aging in the cheese cave for at least eight weeks. It is earthy, rustic, and has a touch of mushroom flavor.
