Come celebrate Cheese Grotto's SUCCESSFUL holiday crowdfunding campaign, and the launch of a new model with an early evening of local whiskey cocktails from Kings County Distillery, expertly paired with specialty cheeses. A flight of three whisky cocktails will be available for purchase, with recommended complimentary cheese pairings.
Cheese Grotto is an unique cheese humidor for storing and serving cheeses at home. The Grotto was developed by cheese specialist, Jessica Sennett, who has been in the cheese industry for eleven years. She has worked at many acclaimed cheese shops including Cowgirl Creamery, Formaggio Kitchen and Bedford Cheese Shop in addition to apprenticing in France and Washington. She makes her own cheese and is also well-versed in tasting, educating, and cooking with cheese.
Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since prohibition. Founded in 2010, Kings County makes handmade moonshine, bourbon, and other whiskeys out of the 118-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. They use New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to make distinctive spirits. Their whiskeys have won numerous awards from the American Distilling Institute, the American Craft Spirits Association, and the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
